Happy Diwali to All
We are lucky in India to have many festivals which keep our spirits high in otherwise stressful business life.
Our Business is heading for tough times. With contraction in US and Europe markets, Chinese exporters have become aggressive in Indian market. This will certainly bring pressure on the prices on one hand, while on other hand rising Dollar has increased all our input costs. Really tough time in PCB manufacturing is calling for some corrections. I am sure our members have taken necessary actions. On behalf of IPCA, we are contemplating few actions and will let you know all when ready with homework. All are requested to suggest what actions can be initiated.

NATIONAL POLICY ON ELECTRONICS UNVEILED
The long awaited Draft NATIONAL POLICY ON ELECTRONICS 2011 has been announced by the Department of Communications & IT in the first week of this month and the copy of which has been circulated to all our members for their comments, views and observations.

Amendments to Foreign Trade Policy have been announced recently. PCB is included for additional 2 % incentive of FOB value of exports under FPS.( Focused Product Scheme ) .

Notification No. 68/2011-Cus (NT) and Circular no. 42/2011, both dated 22 September 2011
The Ministry of Finance has issued the above notification and circular announcing the all industry rates of Duty Drawback for 2011-12. This is effective from 1st October 2011.
The new drawback schedule incorporates items which were hitherto under the DEPB scheme. Thus, the total number of items in the drawback schedule now number approximately 4000.
The tariff items and descriptions of goods in the drawback Schedule are aligned with the tariff items and descriptions of goods in the Customs Tariff at the four-digit level only. The descriptions of goods given at the six digit or eight digit or modified six or eight or ten digits are in several cases not aligned with the descriptions of goods given in the Customs Tariff.
