IPCA starts IPC Training and Certification programs in India

The first ever training session of IATC, starts in Bangalore on 15th May 2007. IATC, (Industry association training centre), a joint venture between IPC , USA and IPCA, India was formed recently to provide training and certification programs on acceptability of Printed circuit boards and Electronics assembly, in India.

IPCA responded to member requests for a formal industry traceable training and certification programme for Printed Circuit Boards and Electronic Assembly Acceptance, by forming a joint venture with IPC, USA in the month of February 2007 for imparting the popular training and certification programs such as IPC-A-600G and IPC-A-610D. IATC is currently offering these programs, which has four components each as follows:

Certify the trainer at IPC authorized training centres.

Re-certify the trainer at IPC authorized training centres.

Certify the Application Specialist by certified trainers or
IPC authorized training centres.

Re-certify the Application Specialist by certified trainers or
IPC authorized training centres.

These programs include a critical element not available from online, video or computer-based training—full interaction with a knowledgeable, credible instructor to immediately resolve comprehension issues. While no IPC document requires participation in an IPC training program to use the standard, customers frequently require that vendors have completed a certification program to ensure their products have gone through rigorous quality control. Use of industry traceable training also greatly facilitates ISO certification that has become important in international trading.

The program was inaugurated by IPCA president Mr. M. Anil Kumar , accompanied by Vice President Mr. Thiyagarajan and Secretary General Mr. R.Chellappa. The Trainers trainer program is conducted by Mr. Gary Roper , who is the master trainer from IPC, USA with more than 35 years of Industry experience. On this occasion IPCA thanked Mr. Denny McGuirk , President and Mr. David Bergman, Vice President standards, from IPC, USA, for their help and cooperation in making this event a reality. IATC has plans to train more than 50 application specialists on Printed circuit boards and Electronics assembly in 2007. More information on the forthcoming courses can be obtained from IPCA office at ipca@ipcaindia.org
